FAIRFAX, Va. – April 23, 2008 -- Omega World Travel,
a global travel management company headquartered in Fairfax,
VA, received a Service Performance Award from the US Postal
Service for service excellence and dedication to quality control.
The second annual awards ceremony was held April 22, at the
Postal Service headquarters in Washington, DC.
This year’s keynote speaker Postmaster General and Chief
Executive Officer, John E. Potter discussed USPS’ important
task of servicing the entire American public, providing the
best service possible while ensuring this was done as efficiently
as possible.
Susan Brownell, vice president of Supply Management presented
awards in six categories including Industry Partnership, Postal
Supplier Council Excellence, Supplier Innovation, Supplier
Diversity, Supplier Excellence and Supplier Performance. Companies
were selected based on ability to demonstrate outstanding
supply chain management performance and positive business
relationships with USPS.
“The high quality equipment, products and services these
companies provide,” said Brownell, “along with
the professional manner with they deliver, go a long way toward
helping the Postal Service make a real difference for the
nation we serve.”
Omega has been providing travel management solutions to the
US Postal Service for over 20 years and has been previously
nominated. Gloria Bohan the president and CEO accepted the
award on behalf of Omega World Travel.
“To be recognized in such a splendid way by a customer
of many years is an ultimate honor,” said Bohan. “USPS
has focused on being an excellent organization and has challenged
us to conform to the same standards of excellence,”
she added.
