AND VISION
Gloria Bohan Receives Honorary Doctorate


June 2, 2003, Fairfax, VA - Gloria Bohan, CEO and President of OMEGA WORLD TRAVEL, was honored by her alma mater, Marymount Manhattan College with a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, May 27th at the college’s annual commencement exercises.

In conferring the honor, Gloria Spinelli Bohan was cited for her “vision of service to the public, skill in organizing a successful enterprise, commitment to the advancement of women and for fidelity to the values and ideals of a liberal arts education.” Dr. Judson Shaver, Marymount’s President offered his congratulations.

Gloria Spinelli Bohan founded Omega World Travel in 1972 and over the last 31 years the company has become the largest woman-owned travel agency in the United States and worldwide. Omega has over 200 offices and 1100 employees. It’s employee base is 86% women and minorities.

Earlier this year, The Center for Women’s Business Research saluted Ms. Bohan with their Entrepreneurial Visionary Award in Washington, D.C. (May 2, 2003).

DIV2000 named Omega the top Diversity Company in the United States at its annual conference in February this year.
