The Omega Online Travel System
offers University of Maryland travelers fingertip access to travel
scheduling, booking review and other information 24 hours a day. Services
of major airlines, world-wide hotel chains and rental car companies
are available for your evaluation and booking at your convenience.
The format is fast and easy to use, and provides the information you
want whenever you need it.
University of Maryland has
negotiated special discounts for their travelers which are applied
to all online bookings. For more details on any of these exceptional
hotel, car
rental or airfare
discounts.
Booking Your Travel
After booking your travel, the information
and itinerary is reviewed and confirmed. Each reservation goes through
a multi-step quality control process; any applicable fare decreases
or discounts, waitlist priority clearance, scheduling changes, mileage
and seating upgrades, and other available benefits are applied during
this process. After this review, your ticket will be issued and
your itinerary will be sent to you via fax or email. Most flight
tickets will be issued electronically. Per our University contract,
a transaction fee of $15 is applied to each ticket. This fee
is generally reimburseable if you are on official University of
Maryland business. The fee will appear as a separate charge on the
credit card used to book the ticket.
Ongoing Itinerary and Fare
Monitoring
We monitor your travel itinerary up to your flight departure for
any fare decreases, seating upgrades or other changes. We will let
you know as soon as possible of any beneficial changes or upgrades.
